Teams from across the East Coast join the lineup. AKD evolves from a showcase into a full intercollegiate competition weekend with mixers, workshops, and after-events.
Bigger stage, tighter lighting, and cinematic visuals. AKD starts leaning into themed storylines, turning the show into a full experience from doors-open to final awards.
AKD joins the Legends circuit as an official partner competition, bringing nationally ranked teams, higher stakes, and a new level of polish to Chapel Hill.
The Space-Jam theme lands: galaxies, planets, and a full-court mashup of basketball hype and South Asian dance. Glow effects, custom visuals, and a sold-out Memorial Hall crowd.
More teams, louder crowds, and even wilder themes. AKD continues to grow as a staple of UNC’s South Asian community — a place where teams leave it all on the court, and on the stage.
